Join us for May half-term to create unusual architectural structures and be immersed in the dance of the robot. Activities inspired by the Elytra Filament Pavilion in The John Madejski Garden. All activities are free and drop-in unless otherwise stated.

IMAGINATION STATION
Saturday 28 May – Sunday 5 June, 10.30 – 17.00

Using fibre, create a mini canopy structure inspired by Elytra Filament Pavilion in The John Madejski Garden. Read more

 POP-UP PERFORMANCE

Be immersed in the dance of the robot under an amazing and unusual architectural structure.Read more

DIGITAL KIDS
Saturday 28 May – Sunday 5 June, 10.30 – 17.00
Create your own incredible architecture using elements of nature, technology and the world around you using digital collage. Read more
Recommended for ages 5+
 MAKE-IT: HOUSE
Monday 30 May – Friday 3 June, 10.30 – 12.30 & 14.30 – 16.30

Work with an engineer from Arup to create a model of a new house. Read more and book  
Recommended for ages 5-12 years
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Maximum one adult per child. Advanced booking essential.

Every Saturday enjoy Pop-up Performances and on Sundays during term time, join the Drop-in Designteam and pick up a design brief to bring your fantastic ideas to life.Suitable for all the family

 REFUGEE WEEKEND
Saturday 25 June, 11.00, 13.00 & 15.00 & Sunday 26 June 10.30 – 17.00
To mark refugee week join us on Saturday for Pop-up Performances of the Soup Storyby storyteller Diana Olutunmogun and on Sunday create a paper umbrella in Drop-in Design to share your favourite objects or memories. 
 DROP-IN DESIGN: PARADE OF THE ANIMALS
Sunday 3 July, 10.30 – 17.00
Search the Museum for animal features that you can use in your mask, headdress or cape; the large ears of an elephant, a tiger's bold stripes or the wings of an eagle. Be inspired by a costume worn by the Indian dancer Ram Gopal (1912 - 2003), who danced in the V&A’s Indian galleries in 1947. This costume is on display on 3 July only in the Theatre and Performance galleries. Read more
This event is part of a day-long celebration of the dancer Ram Gopal. Please ask staff for further details of events.

Keep those hands and minds occupied this May half-term with artist-led workshops helping you to turn your fantasies into reality! Wind-up robots, toy cars and string puppets… the V&A Museum of Childhood is jumping with moving toys.
