Weekly travel update to help you get around London this bank holiday weekend, 28-30 May. Most of the network will be open with services running as normal, but please check if any of the following affect you.





London Underground


We are undertaking a comprehensive improvement programme across London’s transport network, including the modernisation of the Tube.

District line
There will be no service between Earl's Court and Wimbledon. This is to allow for track replacement work at Fulham Broadway, Putney Bridge and Wimbledon.




London Overground


Tonight, Thursday, there will be no service after 22:30 between Hackney Downs and Chingford.
 
On Sunday and Monday, trains will not run between the following stations:
 Gospel Oak and Barking, while Network Rail carry out major works to enable new, longer trains to run from 2018
 Romford and Upminster, for Network Rail infrastructure and Crossrail construction work





TfL Rail


On Sunday and Monday, there will be no service between Liverpool Street and Shenfield. This is while Network Rail carry out overhead power and track works, as part of its Railway Upgrade Plan and the Crossrail project.

Buses


Bus users may be affected by the following this weekend. While we will try to maintain a good service, buses may be delayed or stop short of their normal destination:

Chelsea - From 08:00 until 20:00 today, Thursday, and tomorrow, Friday, and from 08:00 until 17:30 on Saturday, roads in the Chelsea area will be busier than usual. This is for an event.

West London - From 09:00 on Saturday until 17:00 on Sunday, there will be an eastbound lane restriction on A205 Kew Bridge Road at the junction of Chiswick High Road (North Circular Road). This is for gas mains replacement works.

Twickenham - From 12:30 until 19:00 on Saturday and 12:00 until 20:00 on Sunday, roads in and around Twickenham are expected to be busier than usual, including A316 Chertsey Road, all roads leading to Twickenham Station and around the stadium. This is for sporting events. In addition, London Road, Whitton Road and Rugby Road will be closed before and after the events.

Wembley - From 14:00 until 21:00 on Saturday, from 12:00 until 19:00 on Sunday and from 12:00 until 19:00 on Monday, roads around the stadium will be busier than usual, including the A406, Harrow Road and Wembley High Road. This is due to sporting events.

West London - From 04:00 until 22:00 on Sunday, A4 Talgarth Road will be closed westbound between West Cromwell Road and Hammersmith Flyover. This is for a crane operation. If high winds mean that this cannot happen, there is a contingency for this operation to be carried out on Monday.

Central London - From 07:00 until 17:30 on Sunday, all roads in St James's Park will be closed. The Mall and Spur Road will also be closed. This is for an event. For more information please click here

Vauxhall - From 22:00 on Sunday until 05:00 on Monday, Vauxhall bus station will be closed and buses will be diverted away from the bus station. Please use alternative bus stops on South Lambeth Road, Wandsworth Road, Kennington Lane, Albert Embankment or Vauxhall Bridge.

Central London - From 08:00 until 14:00 on Monday, road closures will be in place in the area, including The Mall, Trafalgar Square, Strand and Aldwych. This is for an event. For more information please click here

Roads


Road users may be affected by the following this weekend:

Central London - From 08:00 until 15:00 on Saturday, all roads in St James’s Park will be closed. Horse Guards Road, Constitution Hill and The Mall will also be closed. This is for an event.

West London - From 09:00 on Saturday until 17:00 on Sunday, there will be an eastbound lane restriction on A205 Kew Bridge Road at the junction of Chiswick High Road (North Circular Road). This is for gas mains replacement works.
