Annual boat race
The first men's boat race took place on 10 June 1829 at Henley on Thames, moving to London in 1836. The first women's boat race occurred in 1927 on the Isis in Oxford. Both the men's and the women's races occurred intermittently during their founding decades. This race now occurs annually in London, stretching 4.25 miles along the Thames between Putney and Mortlake.

Our extensive poster collection includes numerous examples of the boat race by various artists, many of which are now available to purchase as made to order prints.
