Easter at Borough Market

The Borough Market Guide to Easter

Easter is a wonderful thing: a four-day weekend, the first really good excuse since New Year to gather the family together for a big feed, and – all being well – the prospect of glorious spring weather, paired with glorious spring produce from Borough Market. To help inspire your Easter feasting, Ed Smith, author of The Borough Market Cookbook, has been quizzing our cosmopolitan cast of traders about their culinary traditions for the festival, and from those conversation has put together a beautiful collection of recipes. Find them in our free digital guide, together with some additional sweet Easter treats.

So Chocolicious

This is a busy time of year for chocolatier Hayleigh Bazelya of So Chocolicious. Using Ghanaian chocolate sourced from farms that are part of the Cocoa Horizon Project – an initiative which gives back to communities by providing education and training for farmers and their children – she produces a wide range of eggs and Easter-themed treats.

Humble Crumble

The bakers at Humble Crumble, purveyors of high-quality fruit crumbles, have created some impressive Easter specials: a hot cross bun with warm apple and orange, orange zest, sultanas, ground cinnamon and allspice, and two Easter nests – one of them vegan – both involving blowtorched marshmallow, chocolate shavings and marigold petals.
