New customers can get £40 of credit for grocery shopping from local retailers delivered to their door. Taking to the site, customers can create an order featuring items from several independent shops, ranging from Borough Market seasonal veg boxes to beer from Kernel Brewery or choice cuts from Ginger Pig, with Hubbub then collecting everything from the various establishments and delivering them in one go to a selected address. However many shops are featured in the order, everything goes through one online checkout payment and is delivered in one convenient hourly slot. Valid delivery postcodes can be found through their website, with almost 300 areas covered and delivery costs included.

The Merchant

Originally piloted in 2008 by former human rights barrister Marisa Leaf, Hubbub is on a mission to help save independent high street retailers by providing a way to shop local online, combined with the convenience of online supermarkets. Bringing neighbourhood retailers to the Capital’s doorsteps, the site and app offers a collection of nearly 10,000 products to peruse, from family essentials to meat and wines, provided by over 60 independent shops and delivered across nearly 300 London postcodes. Prices are the same as in-store, and there’s no minimum spend. Their website also offers a host of recipe ideas to try and create using some of the produce purchased using the service.
