Weekly travel update to help you get around London this weekend, 19-20 November. Most of the network will be open with services running as normal, but please check if any of the following affect you.





London Underground


We are undertaking a comprehensive improvement programme across London’s transport network, including the modernisation of the Tube.

Circle line
There will be no service on the entire line while we test new signalling and replace track at Monument.

District line
Trains will not run between Embankment and Dagenham East. This is to allow us to test new signalling, replace track at Monument and Barking, as well as Crossrail construction work at Whitechapel.

Hammersmith & City line
There will be no service between Liverpool Street and Barking while we test new signalling and replace track at Barking, as well as Crossrail construction work at Whitechapel.




London Overground


Trains will not stop at Whitechapel all weekend for Crossrail construction work. 

On Sunday, there will be no service between Willesden Junction and Camden Road, via West Hampstead, for Network Rail infrastructure work. 

There is no service between Gospel Oak and Barking until February 2017. This is while Network Rail carry out major works to enable new, longer trains to run from 2018. For more information, please click here

London Trams

Buses


Bus users may be affected by the following this weekend. While we will try to maintain a good service, buses may be delayed or stop short of their normal destination: 

Central London - Today, Thursday, Regent Street is partially closed and will fully re-open at 20:00 this evening. Other roads in the area will also be closed. This is for an event. For more information, including times, please visit tfl.gov.uk/weekend-travel 

Central London - Today, Thursday, there will be delays to traffic from 17:30 until 20:00 on Whitehall, Parliament Square, Victoria Street and Great Smith Street. This is for a march. 

A1 Holloway Road - From 22:00 tomorrow, Friday, until 05:00 on Monday, Holloway Road will be closed in both directions between Fairbridge Road and Wedmore Gardens. This is while we carry out work to replace Upper Holloway Bridge. Resurfacing work is also planned to take place on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday on Holloway Road between Archway gyratory and Fairbridge Road. Central London - From midday until 17:00 on Saturday, Park Lane will be closed southbound and from 13:00, there will be delays to traffic on roads including Piccadilly, St. James's Street, Pall Mall, Trafalgar Square, Whitehall, Parliament Square and Millbank. This is for two marches. 

Twickenham - From midday until 19:00 on Saturday, roads in the area will be busier than usual, including A316 Chertsey Road, all roads leading to Twickenham station, and around the stadium. London Road, Whitton Road and Rugby Road will be closed before and after the event. This is for an event. 

Central London - From 14:00 until 17:00 on Saturday, there will be delays to traffic on Marble Arch, Edgware Road northbound, Church Street and Paddington Green. This is for a march. 

Central London - On Sunday, Regent Street will be closed southbound between Mortimer Street and Piccadilly Circus, and northbound between Piccadilly Circus and Oxford Circus from 07:00 until 20:00. Other roads in the area will also be closed. This is for an event. For more information, please visit tfl.gov.uk/weekend-travel 

Central London - From 10:00 until 15:45 on Sunday, road closures will be in place, including Whitehall, Horse Guards Avenue, Whitehall Place, Whitehall Court and Great Scotland Yard. This is for ceremonial events. 

Central London - From 13:00 until 17:00 on Sunday, there will be delays to traffic on Park Lane, Stanhope Gate, and Marble Arch. This is for a procession.

Roads


Road users may be affected by the following this weekend:
