Popup screens is a whole new way of enjoying movies, so not just a wander down to the local cinema showing the lastest movies.
What is always great about London is experiences, new areas (in this case Hackney Downs!) and of course watching Christmas movies immersed in a Christmas theme!
Yesterday All About London wandered up to Hackney Showrooms (very easy to get to) to watch one of the best festive movies ever made, yes Elf! We were very impressed by the set that has been created by Popup screens. You walk through the wardrobe doors into a magical snowy Christmas scene filled with Christmas trees and falling snow. This then leads to the main viewing are an extension of the previous plus the screen.Prior to the movie, there are Christmas songs playing just to ensure that everyone is in the Christmas mood.
There is a bar serving mulled wine amongst other drinks and a yard of popcorn available at the bargain price of £4!
The enthusiastic crowd participated in the film, lots of laughter and awws when things weren't going so well for Elf. By the end of the movie, the audience were singing along.
Overall an enjoyable film experience will certainly be keen to repeat this again soon!
