An example of the models created by Ryecoteswood Students
RAF Inspired:The Furniture Makers
The furniture manufacturing industry has a long and distinguished association with the Royal Air Force, equipping its ranks with famous aircraft types as the Sopwith Camel, de Havilland Mosquito and the Airspeed troop-carrying glider.

Twenty five furniture design students from Ryecotewood Furniture Centre in Oxford have worked with the Museum, in partnership with the Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers, to produce concepts for public seating.

Their designs are based on an aspect of the RAF that has inspired them and will be on display in the Museum's Art Gallery daily until late September.
If you are a student of design or intrigued by good practical design we would urge you to visit.
