This year the Festival marks the 50th anniversary of the abolition of theatre censorship in the UK, and the 250th anniversary of the first circus in London.

Celebrate fifty years since the abolishment of theatre censorship in Britain and the Hays Code in American cinema, with a special study day exploring ways in which the arts have both conformed to and actively confronted censorship.

Belarus Free Theatre: Artists Fighting Oppression

Belarus Free Theatre is the only theatre company in Europe banned by its government on political grounds. Join members of the company for an afternoon exploring their work and artistic process.
