Here is our weekly travel update to help you get around London this weekend, 22 and 23 June, and the following week.

Most of the network will be open with services running as normal so you’ll be able to get wherever you need to go. Please check if any of the following affect you.

Central line
From 01:00 on Saturday 22 until the close of traffic on Sunday 23 June, there will be no service between White City and West Ruislip. At the very start of the closure, from 01:00 until 04:00 on Saturday (during Friday Night Tube), the closure will be extended and there will be no service between Marble Arch and Ealing Broadway / West Ruislip. This is due to track replacement work. Use alternative Tube or local bus routes. Rail replacement buses will run.

St Paul’s station will be exit only all day on Sunday, starting at 12:45 during Saturday Night Tube. This is for improvement works. For all services, including Night Tube, walk or use local bus services to Bank or Chancery Lane stations. Bank station is an eight-minute walk away from St Paul’s along Cheapside. Alternatively, use buses 8, 25 or 242. Chancery Lane station is a 14-minute walk along Newgate Street, or a short journey on bus routes 8 or 25.

Until further notice (except during planned line closures) there is a reduced service every day between Gospel Oak and Barking. This is due to a lack of available trains. Trains will run about every 30 minutes.
 
However, our new trains are gradually starting to provide additional services, resulting in an increased frequency at certain times of day. For train times, please check National Rail Enquiries on the day of travel.
 
From 23:45 tonight, Thursday 20 June, there will be no southbound service from Sydenham to West Croydon. This is due to Network Rail track work. Use local buses.
 
On Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 June, there will be no service between:
  • Gospel Oak and Barking. This is due to Network Rail track and infrastructure work. Rail replacement buses will run between Gospel Oak and Seven Sisters (for South Tottenham), and between Walthamstow Central and Barking. Use Victoria line or local bus services between Seven Sisters and Walthamstow Central
  • Liverpool Street and Enfield Town / Cheshunt (via Seven Sisters) / Chingford. This is due to Network Rail track and infrastructure work. Use alternative Tube or local bus routes between Liverpool Street and Seven Sisters. Rail replacement buses will run between Seven Sisters and Enfield Town / Cheshunt and between Hackney Downs and Chingford. Alternatively, use Greater Anglia services (for entrance / exit at Stratford, Tottenham Hale or Cheshunt stations only)
On Sunday 23 June, there will be no service between Sydenham and West Croydon. This is due to Network Rail track work. Use local buses or Southern services between Sydenham and Norwood Junction. Rail replacement buses will run between Norwood Junction and West Croydon.

On Monday 24, Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 June, there will be no westbound service from Camden Road to Willesden Junction after 23:59. This is due to Network Rail track work. Use local buses to continue your journey.

On Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 June, trains will not stop at Custom House. Customers for the ExCeL Centre should use either Royal Victoria or Prince Regent stations.
   
 
 
TfL Rail
 

 
On Saturday 22 June, there will be no service between Liverpool Street and Stratford, owing to track renewal work. Use Tube or DLR services for travel to/from central London. Greater Anglia services will also be affected.

Buses and roads
 

 
Cromwell Road – From 17:00 until 21:00 today, Thursday 20 June, Cromwell Road will be closed in all directions. This is due to a demonstration at Exhibition Road.

Parliament Square – From 12:00 until 15:00 tomorrow Friday 21 June, Parliament Square will be closed in all directions at the junction of Whitehall. This is due to a demonstration.

Trafalgar Square – From 12:00 until 16:00 tomorrow, Friday 21 June, Trafalgar Square will be closed in all directions. A group will form up at this location and then march to Downing Street via Whitehall.

Wembley Stadium – From 17:00 until 22:30 tomorrow, Friday 21 June, Wembley Stadium will be hosting a concert. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected in the Wembley area before and after the concert. Roads likely to be affected are the A406, A1, A40, Harrow Road, Wembley High Road and roads around the stadium.

Westminster – From 00:00 on Saturday 22 until 23:59 on Sunday 30 June, Parliament Street will be closed northbound between Parliament Square and Downing Street. A northbound lane restriction on St Margaret Street will also be in place. Additionally, lane one on Bridge Street will be closed westbound and lane three on the southbound side of Parliament Square will be closed on the east side the square. This is due to utility works related to the ongoing refurbishment of the Palace of Westminster.

Trafalgar Square – From 08:00 on Saturday 22 until 20:00 on Sunday 23 June, Trafalgar Square will be closed in all directions. Pall Mall East will also be closed with all traffic diverted via the bus lane on Cockspur Street. This is due to an event taking place within the square. Expect increased pedestrian levels in the area.

Belgravia – From 12:50 on Saturday 22 until 18:00 on Sunday 23 June, Belgrave Square will be closed in all directions. This is due to an event.

Wembley Stadium – From 18:00 until 22:30 on Saturday 22 June, Wembley Stadium will be hosting a concert. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected in the Wembley area before and after the concert. Roads likely to be affected are the A406, A1, A40, Harrow Road, Wembley High Road and roads around the stadium.

Hackney – From 05:00 until 21:00 on Sunday 23 June, Kingsland Road will be closed in both directions at the junction of Hare Walk. This is due to a crane operation. There will be a contra-flow in operation reducing the carriageway to a single lane in both directions during this time.

Lords Cricket Ground – From 08:30 until 20:30 on Sunday 23 June, Lords Cricket Ground will be hosting the Cricket World Cup between Pakistan and South Africa. Play begins at 10:30. There will be a lane restriction northbound on Wellington Road to help with crowd control. Large pedestrian numbers and increased traffic flows are expected within the area.

Southwark – From 08:30 until 22:00 on Sunday 23 June, Union Street will be closed in both directions between Southwark Bridge Road and Borough High Street, and Redcross Way will be closed in all directions between Southwark Street and Marshalsea. This is due to an event.

Islington – From 09:30 until 15:30 on Sunday 23 June, Seven Sisters Road will be closed eastbound at the junction of Eburne Road. This is due to utility works by Thames Water.

Islington – From 12:00 until 18:00 on Sunday 23 June, Caledonian Road will be closed in all directions between Copenhagen Street and Offord Road. This is due to a street festival.

Westminster – From 12:00 until 18:00 on Sunday 23 June, Romilly Street will be closed in all directions. This is due to an event.

Westminster – From 17:00 until 18:45 on Sunday 23 June, short traffic holds will be in place to facilitate a procession. Short traffic holds will be in place on the following roads: George Street, Marylebone High Street, New Cavendish Street, Wimpole Street, Cavendish Square, Holles Street, Harewood Place, Hanover Square, Hanover Street, Regent Street, Great Marlborough Street, Carnaby Street, Ganton Street, Kingly Street, Beak Street, Warwick Street.

Wembley Stadium – From 17:00 until 22:30 on Sunday 23 June, Wembley Stadium will be hosting a concert.  Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected in the Wembley area before and after the concert. Roads likely to be affected are the A406, A1, A40, Harrow Road, Wembley High Road and roads around the stadium.

Islington – From 10:00 on Monday 24 until 20:00 on Tuesday 25 June, Upper Street will be closed in both directions at the junction of Gaskin Street. This is due to utility works by Thames Water. A contra-flow, reducing the carriageway to a single lane in both directions, and temporary traffic signals will be place for the duration.

Hounslow – From 10:00 on Monday 24 until 15:00 on Thursday 27June, lane one on Country Way will be closed westbound at the junction of Nallhead Road. This is due to telecoms works by O2.

Lords Cricket Ground – From 08:30 until 20:30 on Tuesday 25 June, Lords Cricket Ground will be hosting the Cricket World Cup between England and Australia. Play begins at 10:30. A lane restriction northbound on Wellington Road will be in place to help with crowd control. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected within the area.

Camden - From 09:00 on Wednesday 26 June until 17:00 on Tuesday 2 July, there will be temporary traffic signals at Southampton Row at the junction of Bloomsbury Place in both directions. This is due to water works.

Westminster – From 12:00 until 17:00 on Wednesday 26 June, Abingdon Street, Millbank, Lambeth Bridge and Lambeth Palace Road will be closed in the Westminster area. This is due to a demonstration.

  • Rodney Street, Angel - due to health and safety
