Award-winning, internationally exhibited visual artist Claire Morgan has created a dramatic installation in Gallery Square made from thousands of fragments of colourful waste polythene, as well as new artworks on display in the Natural History Gallery.

Outset Teen Tours

Get a fresh perspective on our collections on this short tour designed and led by a young person. Today's tour will be led by Anjali who will take you on a personal journey of the Horniman, with new insights, stories and connections.

World Oceans Day
Saturday 8 June, 10.30am–3.30pm

Learn about the oceans and what you can do to help conserve marine habitats. Learn about sharks and turtles with our curators, go on an underwater storytelling journey, take part in our poetry competition, and don't miss enchanting puppet fish in the Horniman Gardens.

Free. Admission to the Aquarium will also be be free as part of this event.

A magnificent taxidermy mount of a male Green Turtle is now on display in our Natural History Gallery. On loan from the Natural History Museum, this impressive animal is over 100 years old. The display also highlights the challenges facing marine life today, and what we can do to protect this habitat.

Last chance: Sea Nomads

Award-winning director and photographer James Morgan captures the lives of the Bajau Laut, the world’s last true marine nomads, and their efforts to conserve their culture and the spectacular underwater environments they have called home for centuries.

Children having a good time at Big Fish Little Fish family rave
Big Fish Little Fish Family Rave
Sunday 28 July, 2-6pm

Big Fish Little Fish return to the Horniman following their sold-out rave last year. This time they are taking over the Gardens with DJs Alex Paterson (The Orb), Aphrodite, and Baker and Beale. There will also be food, bars, craft activities with Captain Cookie and a colour powder throw.

Tickets: Adult £15, Child £12.50, pre-walking infant free.
