This is your chance to come and experience the BBC Symphony Orchestra in concert at the BBC’s Maida Vale Studios.

The French composer, pianist and teacher Louise Farrenc (1804-1875) enjoyed a considerable reputation during her own lifetime. But her music is almost unknown in the UK, unlike that of her compatriot Gabriel Fauré (1845-1924). Fauré's Pelléas et Mélisande Suite is derived from the music he wrote for the London production of Maurice Maeterlinck's tragic play in 1898.
And there’s music by the famous Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg (1843-1907) his famously romantic Piano Concerto and two movements of his incidental music for Ibsen’s play, Peer Gynt.

The French conductor François Leleux and BBC Radio 3 Generation Artist Elizabeth Brauss (piano) make their debuts with the BBC Symphony Orchestra. And the concert is presented by Natasha Riordan.
