Buses and roads

Bus and road users may be affected by the following changes this weekend. We expect to run a good service, but buses may be delayed, diverted or stop short of their normal destination.

Central London - From 08:00 on Saturday 28 September until 18:00 on Sunday 6 October, Cheapside will have temporary signals in operation at the junction of King Street and Queen Street. This is for carriageway works.

A40 at Acton - Between 22:00 and 05:00 on Saturday 28 and Monday 30 September, there will be lane closures westbound on the A40. This is so we can install walking and cycling improvements between Acton and Wood Lane. Drivers should expect delays while travelling westbound during afternoon peak periods (weekdays between 14:00 and 18:00). For more information, visit our travel advice page.

Ealing - From 08:00 until 13:00 on Sunday 29 September, Uxbridge Road will be closed between Broughton Road and Longfield Avenue. This is due to the Ealing half marathon.

Bowes Park - From 08:00 on Monday 30 September until 05:00 on Friday 20 December, lanes one and two on A406 Bowes Road will be closed at the junction of Palmerston Road from 10:00 until 15:30, and from 20:00 until 05:00 each day. Palmerston Road will also be closed in both directions for carriageway and landscaping works. Local buses will be diverted or stop early during the event.

Westminster - From 11:00 until 14:00 on Tuesday 1 October, St Margaret Street will be closed in both directions between the junction of Abingdon Street and Horseferry Road. This is due to an event.

Check whether your bus is affected.
