Did you know?
Coffee was introduced to Londoners in 1652 by an eccentric Greek, Pasqua Rosée, who started selling it just off Cornhill in what’s now the City of London. As these were before the days of filtering, the coffee was rather gritty and consumed for its energising qualities rather than taste!
