Film and TV Tours at the Old Royal Naval College show where Bridgerton and other global hits were filmed

Old Royal Naval College, King William Walk, Greenwich, SE10 9NN

The Old Royal Naval College, a historic riverside location in London, is the star of popular Film and TV Tours this spring. Follow in the footsteps of the stars and see where global smash hits were filmed, including Bridgerton, released on 25th March 2022, and The Crown and blockbusters like Cruella, Skyfall and the upcoming Dr Strange: Multiverse of Madness.

It's no wonder that the camera loves this iconic London landmark, with views across the city, a gorgeous riverside setting, magnificent Baroque Painted Hall and its iconic Sir Christopher Wren domes. This stunning site was the perfect backdrop for London’s New Year’s Eve fireworks and drone display, and has a rich history as a film and TV location, starting with Cary Grant’s Indiscreet (1958), and continuing with exciting upcoming movies and shows like Season Two of Bridgerton.

The Film and TV Location Tours will show visitors why the Old Royal Naval College has been called ‘the most popular filming location in the world’ (Empire Magazine), with over 125 films and TV shows filmed on site so far. The expert guides will show you where Thor fought the dark elves in Thor 2: The Dark World, where Lady Whistledown’s letters make the rounds in Bridgerton, and where other favourites like Poldark, The Duchess and Pirates of the Caribbean were filmed. Christopher Wren’s architecture has featured as Buckingham Palace in The Crown, revolutionary Paris in Les Misérables, and a Venetian chamber in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider.

Film and TV Location Tours last 60 minutes, running every Saturday and Sunday and are part of the overall admission ticket, including entry to the Painted Hall, and Victorian Skittle Alley. Due to popular demand, the tours will run Thursday – Sunday from June. Visitors will be guided through the riverside grounds and Painted Hall, finding out fascinating ‘behind the scenes’ tales from over 60 years of filming, and learning all about how the magic is made. Fans of Bridgerton will be able to see where scenes from this hit show – Netflix’s ‘Most Watched’ in 2020 – were filmed for Season 2, which will be released on Netflix on 25th March.

Tickets can be booked online from £12.50 at www.ornc.org/whats-on/filmtv-location-tour-2/. Tickets can be bought on site from £13.50. It’s advisable to book a time slot for the Film Tours which are available on weekends only
