Londoners have woken up to bright sunshine in stark contrast to the torrential rain that yesterday flooded Tube stations and roads - but forecasters warn more of the same is on its way.
A month's worth of rain fell in a single day on Friday, deluging Stepney Green, Embankment and West Ham and shutting trunk roads such as the busy Highway in Limehouse.
And while the sun has temporarily shown itself, the Met Office was today warning heavy rain would soak the country again by tomorrow.
The road closures and train disruption came as thousands of holidaymakers and commuters scrambled to get away for the summer holidays.

Forecaster Alex Burkill said: "Most places should be dry by lunchtime today.
"It should be a much drier, brighter and much more pleasant day."
Conditions will take a turn for the worse tomorrow, but will not be as wet as yesterday, Mr Burkill added.
"By the time most people wake up on Sunday morning it is going to be a rather cloudy day," he said.
There is a 60 to 90 per cent chance of rain in London during the day tomorrow, with the UK expected to see between five and 10mm of rainfall.
The blustery conditions are set to last into early next week, with rain forecast until at least Wednesday.
Mr Burkill said: "Monday is looking pretty blustery with some heavy, thundery showers expected, but those should ease by the middle of the week."
