Somerset House - What's On April

Now Play This
NOW PLAY THIS &
GAME CHANGERS
Now Play This coincides with the city-wide London Games Festival and showcases the wider possibilities of games - the peculiar, the beautiful and the deeply experimental. It's a place for games that challenges us to play in new and wonderful ways, whether that's in groups, on our own, outside, inside, on or underneath tables. There are games that send us running across courtyards, on screens and games that take place entirely in our heads.
Running alongside there's a month-long, free exhibition titled Game Changerswhich provides an in-depth look at the creative process behind game design. Discover how traditional forms of chess, billiards and mazes continue to influence designers making new games today.

SHUTTERS DOWN!
Shutters Down! Curated by LoneLady - Somerset House Studios
Shutters Down! curated by LoneLady, commissioned by Somerset House Studios,  Sat 25 Feb 2017
Last month LoneLady brought her experimental club night Shutters Down! from Manchester to London as part of her residency at Somerset House Studios. Rarely accessible to the public, The Deadhouse is a subterranean space beneath The Edmond J. Safra Fountain Court. The event featured LoneLady (DJ and visuals), avant-noise band Vanishing (live) and John Doran, founder of The Quietus (DJ). Here's a short film that captures Shutters Down! in The Deadhouse.
