Smoke and Mirrors Live Performances TUES, 13.30 & 14.30 THURS, 18.30 & 19.30 SAT, 11.30 & 12.30 FREE | JUST TURN UP, QUEUES LIKELY Discover the mechanics of magic and the way that trickery works in the Smoke and Mirrors gallery. These live performances explore perception, deception and the ‘supernatural’. Spaces for these events are limited and when performances are on you are likely to have to queue to enter the gallery.

Guided Tours and Discussions DAILY, 11.30, 14.30 & 15.30 (NOT MONDAYS) FREE | JUST TURN UP We offer a range of drop in, half hour tours and pop up discussions every day. From tours of our galleries to in-depth talks about specific items, there's always something happening. Listen for announcements while you're visiting us this summer and look out for signs to see what's taking place on the day.

Library Tour WED 7 AUGUST, 11.30-12.00 FREE | JUST TURN UP Take a 30-minute informal guided tour of the Library shelves with one of our guides.  You’ll hear about the unusual and surprising contents, the ‘treasures’ and how it all works. Meet your guide beside the Library entrance on Level 2.

Saturday Studio: DIY Badgemaking SAT 17 AUGUST, 14.00 - 15.30 & 16.00 - 17.30 FREE | JUST TURN UP Calling all 14-19 year olds! Join a workshop to design and create badges that help you tell the world who you are. Whether you’ve tried craftivism before, or it’s completely new to you, this session is open to all. You’ll learn embroidery techniques and then put them into action to create a badge that represents a part of yourself, whether that’s your political beliefs, a subculture you’re a part of, your hobbies or even your hair colour.

Keep the Kids Cool this Summer There's something for everyone here and kids are no exception. Pick up a Young Explorers Pack and let them cool off as they explore our air conditioned galleries. In our interactive Reading Room they can discover amulets and charms from all over the world, send a postcard to a friend, and more. Also - kids eat free with every adult meal purchased at Wellcome Kitchen throughout the summer holidays.

Heart n Soul's Wall of Change UNTIL 31 AUGUST FREE | JUST TURN UP Visit the Wall of Change to see a mural of objects and spaces reimagined by participants and artists from Heart n Soul at The Hub, a research project led by autistic people and people with learning disabilities. You may feel inspired to choose something in your own life to change or redesign. You can add your idea to the wall, or tweet it to #wallofchange to become part of Heart n Soul’s research.

London Festival of Close-Up Magic UNTIL 10 AUGUST LE MERIDIEN, MAYFAIR Magic settles over London as the UK’s foremost sleight of hand artists perform hour-long close-up shows at the 5 star Le Meridien in July and August.
