Get Up, Stand Up Now celebrates the immense impact and influence of fifty years of Black creativity in Britain and beyond. Curated by artist Zak Ové, the exhibition is inspired by the work and legacy of his trailblazing father Horace Ové and takes visitors on a creative journey through artworks that reflect and reframe the Black experience. In this associated event, which responds to the themes of the exhibition and is curated by June Givanni (Pan African Film Archive), we'll be screening Le Bohemian Noir et la Renaissance de L’Afrique, followed by a panel discussion chaired by Gaylene Gould (BFI Head of Cinema and Events) with director Amani Naphtali, producer Nana Bempah and choreographer Ivan Blackstock.
