Museum of London Docklands - Announcing the largest Bronze Age hoard discovery in London

Havering Hoard: A Bronze Age Mystery
The largest ever Bronze Age hoard to be discovered in London and the third largest of its kind in the UK, has been unearthed during a planned archaeological investigation in Havering. Dated between c.900 and c.800BC, the find consists of over 400 objects including axe heads, spearheads, fragments of swords, daggers alongside other unusual bronze objects, rarely found in the UK.

We’re delighted to be able to put these amazing discoveries on display for the first time in a major free exhibition, Havering Hoard: A Bronze Age Mystery, at the Museum of London Docklands from April 2020.  This amazing display will give you the chance to discover the story behind the objects, and give you a glimpse at the Bronze Age landscape that existed before London.
