Transport for London - Weekend travel information - 12 and 13 October 2019

Here is our weekly travel update to help you get around London this weekend, 12 and 13 October, and the following week.

Most of the network will be open with services running as normal so you’ll be able to get wherever you need to go, but please check if any of the following affect you.
 
 
 
London Underground
 
 
Northern line
On Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 October, there will be no Night Tube service. This is due to line improvement work. Use alternative Tube or local bus routes.
 
Circle line
On Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 October, there will be no service on the entire line. This is due to line improvement work. Use alternative Tube or local bus routes.
 
District line
On Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 October, there will be no service between Earl's Court and East Ham. This is due to line improvement work. Rail replacement buses will run between Liverpool Street and Barking, and between Canning Town and Barking. You can also use alternative Tube or local bus routes.
  
Hammersmith & City line
On Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 October, there will be no service between Baker Street and Barking. This is due to line improvement work. Use alternative Tube or local bus routes.
 
Metropolitan line
On Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 October, there will be no service between Baker Street and Aldgate. This is due to line improvement work. Use alternative Tube or local bus routes.

London Overground
 

 
Tonight, Thursday 10 October, there will be no service between Hackney Downs and Enfield Town/Cheshunt (via Seven Sisters) after 22:45 due to Network Rail track work. Rail replacement buses will run.

On Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 October, trains will not stop at Whitechapel station, including during Friday and Saturday Night Service. This is due to London Underground signalling work. Use local bus routes 205 to/from Shoreditch High Street or D3 to/from Shadwell.

Network Rail is carrying out work which will affect some London Overground services. 

On Sunday 13 October, there will be no service between:
  • Willesden Junction and Richmond. Rail replacement buses will run between Willesden Junction and Gunnersbury. Use District line services between Gunnersbury and Richmond
  • Liverpool Street and Enfield Town/Cheshunt (via Seven Sisters)/Chingford until 10:00. Use alternative Tube or local bus routes between Liverpool Street and Seven Sisters. You can also use Greater Anglia services between Liverpool Street and Cheshunt via Tottenham Hale. Rail replacement buses will run between Seven Sisters and Enfield Town/Cheshunt, and between Hackney Downs and Chingford
From Monday 14 until Thursday 17 October, there will be no service between Sydenham and West Croydon after 22:15. Use Southern Railway trains between Sydenham and Norwood Junction. Rail replacement buses will run every 30 minutes between Norwood Junction and West Croydon.
 
 
 
TfL Rail
 

 
On Sunday 13 October, there will be a reduced service between Paddington and Hayes & Harlington until 09:30, with trains running every 30 minutes. This is due to Network Rail track work.

Buses and roads
 

 
Bus and road users may be affected by the following changes this weekend. We expect to run a good service, but buses may be delayed, diverted or stop short of their normal destination.

Westminster - Until 06:00 on Thursday 17 October, St Margaret Street, Old Palace Yard and Abingdon Street will be closed. This is to remove all of the bollards and barriers outside Parliament before an event. Barriers will be reinstalled once the event is complete.

Central London - Until Saturday 19 October, a group is intending to protest continuously at 11 locations across Westminster. Impacted locations include Trafalgar Square, Parliament Square, Whitehall, Westminster Bridge, Horse Guards Road, Horse Guards Avenue, The Mall, Millbank, Broad Sanctuary, Marsham Street/Horseferry Road, Dean Bradley Street and Lambeth Bridge (both roundabouts). Expect delays in these areas.

Central London - From Saturday 12 October, we're making some changes to bus routes 26, 55 and 388. Bus route 26 from Hackney Wick to Waterloo station will now run every 7 to 8 minutes during the day from Monday to Saturday. Route 55 will now extend from Leyton bus garage to Walthamstow Central bus station. Route 388 will now extend from Stratford City bus station to London Bridge station. Route 48 will no longer run, but you can use routes 55 and 388 at Cambridge Heath to continue your journey to Walthamstow bus station or London Bridge station.

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - From 04:30 until 18:00 on Sunday 13 October, there will be various road closures in the Tottenham area while Tottenham Hotspur Stadium hosts an NFL game between Carolina Panthers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with kick off at 14:30. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected in the area around the stadium before and after the game. From 04:30, High Road will close between White Hart Lane and Hampden Lane. Local road closures and parking suspensions will also be implemented including Park Lane, Worcester Avenue and approaches to High Road. 

Westminster - From 06:00 until 14:30 on Monday 14 October, there will be various road closures across the Westminster area. This includes Constitution Hill, Marlborough Road, The Mall, Link Road, Spur Road, Birdcage Walk, Horseguards Road, Spring Gardens, Whitehall, Great Scotland Yard (between Whitehall and Scotland Place), Whitehall Place (between Whitehall and Scotland Place), Horseguards Avenue (between Whitehall and Whitehall Court), Parliament Square, Bridge Street, Great George Street, Little George Street, Little Sanctuary and Broad Sanctuary (between Parliament Square and Sanctuary).

Santander Cycles
 
From 23:30 tonight, Thursday 10 October until 06:00 tomorrow morning, there will be a planned outage. Only registered members with a key will be able to use the scheme while we carry out an essential IT upgrade.

The following docking stations will be out of service this weekend:
  • Sackville Street, Mayfair - due to a power outage
  • Hoxton Station, Hoxton - due to a power outage
  • Farringdon Street, Holborn - due to a power outage
  • Abbotsbury Road, Kensington - for footway works
  • Golden Lane, Barbican - due to utility works
  • Triangle Car Park, Hyde Park - due to an event
