TfL email update

Here is our weekly travel update to help you get around London this weekend, 19 and 20 October, and the following week.

Most of the network will be open with services running as normal so you’ll be able to get wherever you need to go, but please check if any of the following affect you.

London Underground
Saturday 19 October
From 10:00 until 18:00 on Saturday, Tube services in central London will be extremely busy, due to a march. To help manage the crowds safely, the following stations near the start of the march will become exit and interchange only from about 11:00: Marble Arch, Hyde Park Corner, Knightsbridge and Green Park.
We expect Westminster station will become exit and interchange only by 14:00.
Other nearby stations will also be exceptionally busy, and may be made exit or interchange only during the day: Bond Street, Oxford Circus, Tottenham Court Road, Leicester Square, Charing Cross, Embankment, Piccadilly Circus, Waterloo, St James’s Park, Vauxhall and Victoria.
To help us keep stations open, please keep moving away from ticket halls and exits. Plan your journey in advance and allow extra time. On the day check if your route is affected.
Northern line
On Saturday 19 October, there will be no Night Tube service on Saturday night between Charing Cross and Edgware/High Barnet. This is due to track improvement work. Please use other Night Tube services and/or local buses for alternative routes.

Circle line
On Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 October, there will be no service between Edgware Road and Aldgate via Victoria. This is due to track improvement work. Use alternative Tube or local bus routes.

District line
On Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 October, there will be no service between South Kensington/Edgware Road and Hammersmith/Wimbledon/Kensington (Olympia). This is due to track improvement work. Rail replacement buses will run between Hammersmith and Wimbledon, and between Earl’s Court (Saturday)/Kensington (Olympia) (Sunday) and Wimbledon. You can also use alternative Tube or local bus routes.

London Overground

Network Rail is carrying out work which will affect some London Overground services.

On Sunday 20 October, there will be no service between
  • Romford and Upminster until 10:00. Use local bus routes 165, 248 or 370
  • Sydenham and Crystal Palace. Rail replacement buses will run between Crystal Palace and Norwood Junction / West Croydon

DLR

On Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 October, there will be no service between West Ham and Woolwich Arsenal. This is due to maintenance work. Use local bus routes 161 or 472. Rail replacement buses will run. Tickets will also be accepted on Southeastern Railway only between Greenwich and Woolwich Arsenal.

London Trams

On Sunday 20 October, there will be no service between Addiscombe and Beckenham Junction/Elmers End until 09:00. A reduced service will run between East Croydon and Addiscombe. This is due to infrastructure works. Use local buses to continue your journey.

TfL Rail

On Saturday 19 October, there will be no TfL Rail or Heathrow Express services to Heathrow. TfL Rail will be operating a reduced train service between Paddington and Hayes & Harlington with trains not stopping at Hanwell. This is due to Network Rail improvement work at Heathrow Airport. Use the Piccadilly line for Heathrow and local bus routes.

Plan your journey in advance and allow extra time. On the day check if your route is affected.

Westminster – From 13:00 until 18:00 on Monday 21 October, a group will gather at the junction of Marble Arch on Edgware Road. This is for a religious procession. Delays are expected.

Hackney – Until 05:00 on Friday 1 November, Kingsland Road will be reduced to a single lane in both directions between Englefield Road and Dalston Lane. This is due to improvement works.

A406 near Tottenham - From 22:00 on Friday 25 until 05:00 on Monday 28 October, the A406 will be closed westbound near Tottenham at the Angel Road flyover. Eastbound traffic will not be affected.
