Today is Endangered Species Day. A day to raise awareness of the huge importance of all life on earth, and join together in helping to protect our threatened, endangered and at-risk plant and animal species.
Our research for the Living Planet Report with WWF showed that, on average, population sizes of mammals, birds, amphibians, reptiles and fish have decreased by 68% between 1970 and 2016. This represents a huge loss in global biodiversity, and highlights the urgency to protect endangered species now, before they are lost forever.
