Next week, we will be launching our What's On Guide for Summer 2022. We have programmed an exciting array of events and exhibitions for the summer and in this week's newsletter you will get a sneak peak into those events! A Queer Georgian Social Season 
The Grand Opening - A Spa is Born: Seeking Pleasure in Hampstead
Thurs 9th June 2022, 7pm
Burgh House and Les Bougies Baroques are proud to present A Spa is Born: Seeking Pleasure in Hampstead.

Join us at Burgh House for the grand opening of the our first annual Queer Georgian Social Season as we take you back to a time when queers were more visible and accepted than you thought.

The evening will feature performances by 'Les Bougies Baroques', a workshop with social designer and applied artist Warren Reilly, and appearances from drag artists Adam All, Apple Derrières and Lasana Shabazz. All you are required to do is leave your preconceptions at the door, help yourself to some Georgian punch from the bar and come as yourself - with or without bells on!

The Queer Georgian Social Season is conceived & curated by Ian Peter Bugeja & Mark Francis-Vasey.

Wine Tasting -  Sparkling Wines: Different Methods
Thurs 26h May 2022, 6:30pm
In this tasting, you will taste five sparkling wines which showcase the different methods a winemaker can choose to create those all-important bubbles! From North Italy all the way down to the South Island of New Zealand, this tasting will give you the opportunity to compare and contrast these different styles of sparkling wine, and we will be on hand to guide you through and answer any questions you might have about this fascinating wine style. This event is run by Jeroboams and is supported by Osbornes Law. United Kingdom Sibelius Society Concert 
Sun 12th June, 2pm

Join violinist Emma Arizza and pianist Stefano Marzanni for an afternoon of sonatas by Sibelius and Busoni. Supported by the Anglo-Finnish Society. Tickets available on the door (£10).

Slash Arts Charity Auction and Concert 
Mon 20th June 2022, doors 5:30pm
Supporting the displaced children of Ukraine. All proceeds go to UNICEF Ukraine Appeal. Over 70 contemporary artworks for sale from acclaimed emerging and established artists. Auction run by Felix Hale from Sotheby’s. Short piano concert by Russian/Ukrainian composer and pianist Evelina de Lain. This event is supported by Osbornes Law.

Playing for Peace
Sun 26th June 2022, doors 6:30pm
Concert pianist Mine Doğantan-Dack and friends return to Burgh House to play in support of Ukraine, and for a peaceful world. Their programme includes Beethoven’s sublime Archduke piano trio, and Schubert’s beloved Trout Quintet. Do come to support this important cause and enjoy an evening of wonderful music making. All proceeds will go to the Disaster Emergency Committee Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal. More information can be found in the link below. This event is supported by Osbornes Law.

Peyton and Selina Skipwith In Conversation
Weds 29th June, doors 6:30pm
Father and daughter and long-time Hampstead residents discuss their personal memories of the artists of Hampstead. Peyton Skipwith is a fine art consultant and author, who joined the staff of The Fine Art Society in 1961, retiring as Deputy Managing Director in 2015; he is a Past Master of the Art Workers Guild and author of numerous books. Selina Skipwith is an independent curator and art advisor, she was the Director and Keeper of Art of The Fleming Collection 1996-2014. Selina is a member of the Association of Professional Art Advisors and sits on its European Steering Committee. She is a Trustee of the Wilhelmina Barns-Graham Trust.

The ACE Trio Concert

The ACE Trio return to Burgh House to perform Dvorak’s much-loved Dumky Trio and Paul Schoenfeld’s Cafe Music - a piano trio like no other!

Music on a Summer Eve

The wonderful St Genesius choir will perform a lovely mix of songs to lift the spirits and soothe the soul. Half of the proceeds from the ticket sales will be donated to a charity, Fight for Sight.

Join the Sunday Times bestselling author in conversation for this exclusive event as she talks all things Just Got Real, from her inspiration for the characters to dealing with secrets. Jane will also touch on her time as a multi-award-winning television producer behind shows such as This Life, Teachers and 20 Things to Do Before You’re 30, and how that experience influenced her writing.
