Dippy was the first Diplodocus to go on display anywhere in the world when it was gifted to the Museum in 1905.  In 2017, Dippy went on tour around the UK, stopping off in a cathedral, community centre and parliament building, among other venues.  Dippy is now back at the Museum for a limited time - and we're ready to celebrate!  Join us after hours to hear more about Dippy from palaeontologists and conservationists and find out what it takes to look after this iconic 26-metre Diplodocus.  You'll even get the chance to meet some live creatures whose Jurassic ancestors roamed the Earth with Dippy. 24 June 18.30 - 21.30 Welcome Dippy home Mystery at the Museum: The Search for Dippy We need your help to solve a mystery. Several parts of Dippy the Diplodocus have disappeared within the labyrinth of the Museum.  Can you follow the clues, question suspects and track down the missing pieces to prevent a national scandal?  29 June, 19 July  Start snooping   Spend an evening up close with nature Lucy Cooke and her new book Find out how the female species from the animal kingdom are being redefined by scientists at an event with zoologist Lucy Cooke.  She'll be discussing her new book Bitch: A Revolutionary Guide to Sex, Evolution and the Female Animal.  Entry to the Dippy Returns: The Nation's Favourite Dinosaur exhibition is included as part of your ticket, as well as a free drink. 31 May Save your seat   Is this your dream coming true?
