Rooftop Film Club - Wanna See a Rooftop Movie?

CINEMATIC SUNSETS ARE YOURS FOR THE TAKING!

This weekend at Bussey, we're serving up high tension in the heights - get your scream on with Friday the 13th, pretend you're in Gotham during The Batman or indulge in the latest Scream film.

Over at Roof East, we're keeping it a lil' bit lighter but still tugging at those heartstrings with love-it-or-hate-it musical Across the Universe, romantic classic The Notebook and Disney fave (and Tik Tok smash hit) Encanto

This week, we highlight some unmissable coming-of-age films in our Staff Picks section... read on!

WHAT'S THE DEAL?
After his parents leave on vacation, Joel Goodsen (Cruise) and his bestie Miles cut loose and attempt to enlist the services of a prostitute for a night of delight.

After a series of setbacks & unexpected expenditures, an increasingly desperate Joel turns the house into a brothel...

WHY SHOULD I SEE IT?
This 1983 movie catapulted a young Tom Cruise into superstardom & we're sure his iconic shorts & socks dance has inspired millions to do the same!

WHAT'S THE DEAL?
In 1988, a teenager named Donnie Darko sleepwalks out of his house & befriends a human-sized demonic-looking rabbit named Frank, who predicts the apocalypse is due in 28 days.

As if things weren't weird enough, Darko finds a jet engine has crashed into his bedroom upon returning home.

Is Donnie living in a parallel universe, is he suffering from mental illness - or will the world really end?

WHY SHOULD I SEE IT?
We're pretty sure nobody knows what's going on in this movie (please tell us if you do), but it's incredibly 90s atmosphere, one-of-a-kind mind-bending storyline, and young Jake Gyllenhaal make this cult classic one you should definitely have in your arsenal.
