Transport for London - Weekend travel information 25/26 June 2016

Weekly travel update to help you get around London this weekend, 25-26 June. Most of the network will be open with services running as normal, but please check if any of the following affect you.





London Underground


We are undertaking a comprehensive improvement programme across London’s transport network, including the modernisation of the Tube.

Circle line
There will be no service on the entire line. This is to allow us to carry out station improvement work at Moorgate, Barbican and Liverpool Street and track replacement work at Aldgate.

District line
Trains will not run between Tower Hill and Barking while we carry out track replacement work at Aldgate East and Plaistow as well as Crossrail construction work at Whitechapel and station improvement work at Stepney Green.

Hammersmith & City line
There will be no service between King’s Cross St. Pancras and Barking. This is to allow us to carry out track replacement work at Aldgate East and Plaistow as well as Crossrail construction work at Whitechapel and station improvement work at Stepney Green.

Metropolitan line
Trains will not run between King’s Cross St. Pancras and Aldgate. This is to allow us to carry out station improvement work at Moorgate, Barbican and Liverpool Street and track replacement work at Aldgate.




London Overground


On Saturday and Sunday, there will be no service between Highbury & Islington and Shadwell due to Crossrail construction work and Shepherd’s Bush and Willesden Junction, due to Network Rail infrastructure work.

On Saturday, trains will not run between Surrey Quays and New Cross, due to Crossrail construction work.

On Sunday, there will be no service between New Cross Gate and Crystal Palace/West Croydon, due to Network Rail track work.
 
Until February 2017, there are closures on the Gospel Oak to Barking line as follows:
 Trains will not run between South Tottenham and Barking for the entire period
 At weekends, there will be no service between Gospel Oak and Barking
This is while Network Rail carry out major works to enable new, longer trains to run from 2018. For more information, please click here





TfL Rail


On Sunday, there will be no service between Liverpool Street and Shenfield until 08:30, due to Network Rail overhead power and track work.

Buses


Bus users may be affected by the following this weekend. While we will try to maintain a good service, buses may be delayed or stop short of their normal destination:

Hayes - From 23:00 tomorrow, Friday, until 05:00 on Saturday, and at the same times on Sunday/Monday, M4 will be closed eastbound between junctions 3 and 2. This is for resurfacing works.

Wembley - From 15:00 until around midnight on Friday, roads around the stadium will be busier than usual, including the A406, Harrow Road and Wembley High Road. This is due to events.

Central London - From 06:00 until 20:00 on Saturday, there will be various road closures in the area, including Whitehall, Regent Street, Piccadilly Circus, and parts of Oxford Street. This is for a parade. For more information, including affected bus routes, please visit tfl.gov.uk/weekend

Greenwich - From 06:00 until 22:00 on Saturday, there will be road closures in place for an event, including College Approach, King William Walk and Greenwich Church Street.

Morden - From 09:00 until 13:00 on Saturday, there will be road closures in the area, including A24 London Road northbound, at the junction with Central Road, and southbound at the junction with Morden Hall Road. This is for a march.

Central London - From 07:00 until 13:00 on Sunday, Pall Mall will be closed westbound at the junction of Waterloo Place. This is for an event.

Wimbledon - From Monday until 10 July, traffic is likely to be busy in Southfields, Wimbledon Village and town centre. Parking restrictions will also be in place. This is due to the Wimbledon tennis championships.

Roads


Road users may be affected by the following this weekend:

Santander Cycles


The following docking stations will be out of service this weekend:
 Derry Street, Abingdon Green, Broadwick Street, Moor Street, Frith Street, Wardour Street, Golden Square, Soho Square and Portland Place, for events
 All Saints Road, for resurfacing
