NORTH: FASHIONING IDENTITY

Our major winter exhibition examines truth, myth and the spaces in-between in visual representations of the north of England.
Featuring over 100 photographs, fashion and multimedia work, the exhibition highlights how the realities of life in the north of England captured in the mid-20th century continue to exert an influence over new generations of photographers, artists and designers worldwide.

CURATING NORTH

Join co-curators Lou Stoppard and Adam Murray as they share the inner workings of their investigations, artist relations and considered complications in showcasing the North.
A conversation introduced by Somerset House and chaired by Sarah Fisher, Executive Director of Open Eye Gallery. The evening is set to explore both the initial development of the exhibition and the integration of new works in its transition from Liverpool to London.
