Transport for London - Weekend travel information - 21-22 Oct 2017

Here is our weekly travel update to help you get around London this weekend, 21-22 October, and also the following week. Most of the network will be open with services running as normal, but please check if any of the following affect you.





London Underground



Metropolitan line
On Sunday trains will not run between Aldgate and Wembley Park before 09:30 and after 20:30. This is to allow us to replace track and signalling between Baker Street and Finchley Road.

London Overground


All weekend, trains will not run between Romford and Upminster due to Crossrail construction work and Network Rail infrastructure work.
 
On Sunday, there will be no service between the following stations:
 Camden Road and Stratford due to bridge replacement work at Highbury Corner
 Sydenham and Crystal Palace due to Network Rail track work
 
Also on Sunday until 23:59, Bethnal Green will not be served by trains to/from Chingford.

Until Sunday 22 October, there will be no service between Gospel Oak and Barking. This is while Network Rail continues major work to enable new, longer trains to run from spring 2018.

TfL Rail


All weekend, trains will not run between Stratford and Shenfield. This is while Network Rail carry out track and station improvements as part of their Railway Upgrade Plan, as well as Crossrail construction work.





DLR


On Saturday and Sunday, there is no service between Stratford and Bow Church. This is due to Crossrail work at Pudding Mill Lane.

Buses


Bus users may be affected by the following this weekend. While we will try to maintain a good service, buses may be delayed, diverted or stop short of their normal destination:

North London – From 17:00 today, Thursday, until 22:00 tomorrow, A406 / Brentfield Road will be closed in both directions. There will also be lane restrictions on the A406 at the junction of Drury Way. This is for an event.

Central London– From 13:15 until 16:00 on Saturday, there will be short traffic holds on the following roads: Whitechapel High Street, Aldgate High Street, Minories, Mansell Street, and Tower Bridge. This is for a march.

West London – From 17:00 on Saturday 21 October, until 05:00 on Sunday 29 October, Hammersmith Bridge will be closed in both directions. The bridge remains open to pedestrians and cyclists. This is due to maintenance work.

Wembley – From 13:00 until 20:00 on Sunday, roads around the stadium will be busier than usual, including A406, Harrow Road and Wembley High Road. This is due to an event.

South West London – From 15:00 until 23:00 on Sunday, roads around Twickenham Stadium will be busier than usual including A316 Chertsey Road. Between 19:00 and 23:00, there will be an eastbound lane closure on A316 Chertsey Road between Hospital Bridge Road and London Road. There will also be closures and diversions on London Road, Whitton Road and Rugby Road. This is due to an event.

Central London – From 17:30 until 19:30 on Monday, there will traffic holds on all approaches to Trafalgar Square and Parliament Square. There will also be a southbound closure of Whitehall, and Horse Guards Avenue will also be closed. This is for an event.

Central London – From 00:01 until 23:59 on Monday, Piccadilly (eastbound), between Down Street and Clarges Street will be closed. This is for development / construction work.

Roads


Road users may be affected by the following this weekend:

The following docking stations will be out of service this weekend:
 South Quay West, Foley Street, Bourne Street, Cardinal Place and Portugal Street for building works
 Westfield Eastern Access Road, Sun Street, Montgomery Square and Dorset Square for site redevelopment
 Rodney Street and Museum of London due to works
 Serpentine Car Park due to relocation
