Couple make history by becoming first to tie the knot on Battersea Park bandstand

A south London couple will this weekend become the first ever to get married in one of the capital's most iconic settings - and they are hoping no one heckles them.

Emily Watson and Sheridan Smith are among stars to have graced the historic bandstand in Battersea Park in film and TV appearances - but Londoners Jenny Coffin and Tim Green will become the first to use it for a wedding when they tie the knot on Saturday.
Jenny, 34, said they had chosen the open-air structure, originally built in the mid-19th century, because it seemed like a "perfect London location" with a relaxed public feel.
"It's just really beautiful," the NHS project manager told the Standard. "We've lived near Battersea Park for a long time, and it feels like a perfect London location.
