Here is our weekly travel update to help you get around London this weekend, 21-22 April, and also the following week. Most of the network will be open with services running as normal, but please check if any of the following affect you.
Strike action is taking place on the DLR from 04:00 on Friday 20 April, until 03:59 on Tuesday 24 April. The strike has been called over a dispute with KeolisAmey Docklands who operate the DLR on behalf of TfL. We aim to offer a limited service over the four days, which coincide with the London Marathon on Sunday 22 April. For up to date information on what services may operate, please visit tfl.gov.uk/dlr. Please check before you travel or follow us on Twitter @londondlr, @TravelAlerts, @TfLTrafficNews and@TfLBusAlerts. | |

Bus users may be affected by the following this weekend. While we will try to maintain a good service, buses may be delayed, diverted or stop short of their normal destination:
Westminster - From 09:30 until 11:30 on Saturday 21 April, Whitehall will be closed in both directions between Parliament Square and Horse Guards Avenue. This is for an event.
Wembley - From 14:00 until 21:00 on Saturday 21 April, and from 12:00 until 19:00 on Sunday 22 April, roads around the stadium will be busier than usual, including A406, Harrow Road and Wembley High Road. This is for an event.
Central London - From 01:30 on Saturday 21 until 05:00 on Monday 23 April, Tooley Street will be closed to enable essential works by Network Rail.
Central London - From 04:00 until 19:00 on Sunday 22 April, there will be full road closures, commencing at 06:30 from Greenwich Park to St James's Park. Central and City closures will include all approaches to Commercial Road, Upper Thames Street, Tower Hill and Victoria Embankment. Rotherhithe Tunnel, Limehouse Link Tunnel, East India Dock Tunnel westbound, and Tower, Southwark and Westminster Bridges will also be closed. Roads will be reopened in phases with all closures scheduled to be removed by 19:00. This is due to a marathon.
Central London - From 23 April until summer 2018, Byward Street/Tower Hill will be reduced from two to one lane westbound from Tower Hill Garden to the junction with Great Tower Street. This is to enable us to introduce segregated cycle track for the East West Cycle Superhighway. If you are travelling westbound during the AM peak (7am – 10am) you are likely to experience delays on your usual journey time. For eastbound traffic, provision will remain the same with the single lane remaining open. There will be no access to Trinity Square from Byward Street / Tower Hill during this period and a signed diversion will be in place. There will be some overnight road closures for resurfacing.
Westminster - From 12:00 until 16:00 on Monday 23 April, there will be traffic holds on Parliament Square via Pall Mall East, Trafalgar Square and Whitehall. This is for a march.
Central London - From 07:00 until 13:00 on Tuesday 23 April, lane closures will be in place on the south and west side of Parliament Square from 07:00. From 09:00 roads around Parliament Square and approaches will then be closed including Whitehall, Bridge Street, Millbank between Horseferry Road and Parliament Square, Victoria Street between Artillery Row and Parliament Square, and Great George Street. This is for an event.
