Hear the heart warming Japanese tale of the Monkey and the Crab and give a cheer for the delights of the marvellous music hall in stories of theatrical wonder.

Join us for special making activities and create your own magical hat, curate a cabinet of curiosities or design your own Japanese family crest.

Imagination Station: Growing Structures

Visit us over the bank holiday weekend and take part in a unique construction activity called Growing Structures co-designed with Arup. Have a go and enjoy the building process with your family and friends.

Family Festival 2018

Take part in workshops designed and led by artists and families from the Door to Design project, and view their work in the Door to Design display.

Can you solve the problems of the future? Design solutions for the challenges we will face in years to come. This activity has been created with Arup engineers. You can work alongside them and find out more about becoming an engineer.

Time travel to the future by taking part in energetic sound and dance performances directed by Scanners Inc. and performed by The House of Absolute.

Borrow an award-winning backpack to investigate the Museum through creative and fun multi-sensory activities. Or pick up a free family trail to explore with images and discover unusual parts of the Museum.

Use your mobile or tablet and our free Wi-Fi when you visit. Add some play to your day with characters, quizzes and even hairstyling challenges to complete.
WE RECOMMEND
Half Moon presents Friends for All
March – June 2018

Friends For All is a performance for 5-11s, with rapping, dancing and far-out video projections. It first took place at the V&A in October 2016 and is now on tour around the UK. You can see it in the Half Moon Theatre in East London.

The 20th century’s most iconic and influential Nordic designs for children, from BRIO to LEGO, Marimekko and the Moomins, have been brought together for the first time in this stunning new exhibition.
