Here is our weekly travel update to help you get around London this bank holiday weekend, and the following week.
Most of the network will be open with services running as normal so you’ll be able to get wherever you need to go. Please check if any of the following affect you. | |

From 01:30 until 04:30 on Saturday 4 May during Friday Night Tube, and from 03:50 until 05:50 on Sunday 5 May during Saturday Night Tube, there will be no service between Waterloo and Wembley Park. This is due to track replacement work. Use local bus or other Night Tube routes. |

From Saturday 4 until Monday 6 May, there will be no service on the entire line. This is due to track replacement work and Network Rail track maintenance work. Use alternative Tube and local bus routes. Rail replacement buses will run. |

Until further notice (except during planned line closures) there will be a reduced service every day between Gospel Oak and Barking. This is due to a lack of available trains. Trains will run about every 30 minutes. Supplementary buses will also run.
On Saturday 4 May, there will be no service between Euston and Watford Junction. This is due to Network Rail track work and work at Euston to enable High Speed Two (HS2). Use alternative Tube or local bus routes between Euston and Queen’s Park. Rail replacement buses will run between Queen’s Park and Harrow & Wealdstone / Watford Junction.

Bus and road users may be affected by the following changes this weekend. We expect to run a good service, but buses may be delayed, diverted or stop short of their normal destination.
Westminster – From 11:00 until 14:00 tomorrow, Friday 3 May, Broad Sanctuary and Victoria Street will be closed in both directions between Parliament Square and Great Smith Street. This is due to an event.
Westminster – From 11:00 until 14:00 tomorrow, Friday 3 May, a large crowd will form up at Parliament Square for a demonstration. Delays are expected.
Twickenham Rugby Stadium – From 12:30 until 16:00 on Saturday 4 May, Twickenham Rugby Stadium will be hosting the Army v Navy rugby match, with kick off at 14:00. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected in the Twickenham area before and after the game. Roads likely to be affected include the A316 Chertsey Road, all roads leading to Twickenham station and roads surrounding the stadium.
Wembley Stadium – From 16:00 until 20:30 on Saturday 4 May, Wembley Stadium will be hosting the SSE Women’s Cup Final football match between West Ham and Manchester City, with kick off at 17:30. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected in the Wembley area before and after the game. Roads likely to be affected include the A406, A1, A40, Harrow Road, Wembley High Road and roads around the stadium.
Battersea – From 07:00 on Monday 6 May until 19:00 on Saturday 3 August, there will be various bus lane closures on Clapham Common North Side between Northcote Road and Cedars Road. Until 19:00 on Saturday 1 June, bus lane one on Battersea Rise westbound opposite the junction of Eccles Road will be closed. From 07:00 on Monday 3 until 19:00 on Saturday 29 June, the contra-flow bus lane on Clapham Common westbound at the junctions of The Avenue and Marjorie Grove will be closed. From 07:00 on Monday 1 July until 19:00 on Saturday 3 August, bus lane one on Battersea Rise westbound opposite the junctions of Eccles Road and Hafer Road will be closed. This is due to SGN works.
Baker Street – From 08:00 on Tuesday 7 until 17:00 on Friday 13 May, Baker Street will be closed northbound at the junction of Melcombe Street. Traffic will be diverted via Melcombe Street and Gloucester Place. There will also be a lane closure for southbound traffic on Park Road at the Allsop Place junction. This is due to Westminster City Council works to complete the Baker Street two-way scheme.
Old Street – From Tuesday 7 May until early 2020, the pedestrian subway on Cowper Street (Subway 2) will be closed. This is part of works to transform Old Street into a more pedestrian and cycle-friendly environment. Signage will be in place to guide you, however please allow more time for your journey when using Old Street station.
Westminster – From Wednesday 8 until Thursday 23 May, Millbank will be closed in both directions at the junction of Great Peter Street. This is due to the refurbishment of Westminster Palace.
Westminster – From 12:00 until 17:00 on Wednesday 8 May, a large crowd will form up at Parliament Square for a demonstration. Delays are expected.
