Embankment Summer Market returns to Victoria Embankment Gardens on London’s Northbank from Friday 15th July to Sunday 17th July 2016. 

The unique three-day event, created by City Showcase: Markets, the UK’s premier organiser of artisan and designer crafts events, follows last year’s highly successful launch, which saw in excess of 15,000 people visit the market.

Embankment Summer Market brings together a handpicked selection of emerging artisans, artists, and fashion and jewellery designers with high quality street food, a farmer’s market, and bars. There will also be lawn games including giant jenga and croquet plus 3 days of live music and entertainment for all, creating a great family day out.

City Showcase: Markets has curated a handpicked selection of 190 stalls over the weekend including: Timea Sido, award-winning intricate designed ceramic objects, Roelofs & Rubens, a charming collection of blue and white tableware, Kate Moby, hand-drawn, nature-based, eco-friendly homeware and accessories; Lazy Lizard, bright, unique toys and gifts, Leaping Lizards, culturally rich children’s clothing, Dotty Dungarees for kids and babies, Aah Kid, bold patterned, handmade children’s clothing, Yola Walaszek, one-off hand-stitched handbags, Lucy Loves This, London-themed typographic designs, The Dirt Creative, handmade apothecary soaps, Lizzy Chambers, keepsake jewellery including a botanical range, The New English, cutting edge ceramics and bone china, Gray Jay Studio, colourful geometric statement jewellery, That Charming Shop, drink themed charms, soaps and bath products, Anna Wiscombe, beautiful wooden creations including wall birds and plywood meadow flowers, Ros Shiers, popular illustrative prints and stationary, Supreme Elements, typographic tee-shirt designs and other menswear, Washed Up Design, coast-inspired tableware, Edy and Bridge, handmade shimmering vintage-style clothing and accessories, ROAM, fabulous textile and knitwear designs from Scotland, Apamate Scents, carbon neutral, hand-poured aromatic candles, El&So, skincare products for the metropolitan woman, Hashtag House, laser cut paper and wood homeware, Annabel Perrin, mid-century, statement modern home accessories, Dinkibelle, for fashionable finger tips, and many more.



Providers of Street Food include Backstreet Diner, a food truck from chef Ben Lindsay presenting rare breed gourmet burgers with English ingredients, The Urban German, traditional crispy chicken and fried pork served with seasonal and specials, Newdlez Pad Thai, quality Thai street food, Arancina, real Italian food and wood fired pizza, Shredded Meat, authentic American BBQ, and more.  Local business, Bella Italia is also supporting the event and will be selling ice cream from a gelato cart.

The Produce Market will include Nutural World with a range of nut butters and spreads, Cranes premium cranberry ciders, Giraffe & Hobbit, specially selected boutique Provencal wines, Holy Lama Spice Drops, World Food Innovation Award Winner 2015, Tea People who are committed to showcasing and supporting through their social enterprise the tea growers of Darjeeling and many more.

The official exclusive bar provider will be Quirky Bars and their lovingly restored Horsebox Bar and flower power themed Festival Bar, which offers a range of liquid refreshment from gin with elderflower tonic to pink lemonade plus beer, wine, prosecco to enjoy the musical talent performing on the stage.

Event organiser, City Showcase, has curated 3 days of great live music on the outdoor stage.

Over 50 artists, bands and musicians from across the musical spectrum have already been confirmed including BBC radio and BBC Introducing supported artists, Huw Stevens supported singer songwriter, Corey Fox-Fardell, jazz-influenced r&b vocalist, Ashleigh Ashley, britpop influenced Nick Aslam, folk-singer Hattie Briggs, soul vocalist Charlene, Roxanne De Bastion, electronic pop singer OH!KAY, country vocalist Kaity Rae, The Voice contestant, Luciee Marie Closier, and R&B/gospel artist Basheba. Other emerging acts include Linah, Dublin-based Morrissey & Marshall, Devon band The Summertides, princess of DIY pop, folk-roots singer Dan Raza, 15 year old singer Katie Kittermaster, grime vocalist Infecta, Cloudy Galvez, acoustic soul, eclectic singer-songwriter Kate Thomas, rock band Echotape, singer-songwriter Jarell, Norfolk soul artist Mullally, alternative folk-rock Van Susans, folk twin sisters Kyla & Nat, Urban pop trio Pryme Kingz, boisterous indie folk band Ab and the Underclass, London singer Maud Waret, rock band The Roscoes, indie band Veludo Planes, singer songwriter Joe Jury, folk pop Bethan and the Morgans, vocalist Selena Seballo, rock band Canvas Wall, Monmouthshire’s Caldicot School Choir and Band, student concert bands New England/Nevada Ambassadors of Music performing traditional American standards. Adding even more variety to the bill is Swing Out & Shimmy choreographed by Rosaria from Rawhead Dance Theatre, they will be performing twice on Sunday 17th July with a mix of lindy hop, authentic jazz and locking, featuring contemporary techniques.

The outdoor stage will be hosted by up and coming actor, director and improviser Mike Sofo. His most recent project was playing Emerson in the short film Aria, which has been nominated for many film festivals.

There will also be ‘Linger for Lawn Games’ featuring Croquet and Giant Jenga for the young at heart!

City Showcase, the not-for-profit organisation, supports and nurtures new creatives from all disciplines. They look to feature high quality, distinctive, talented and quirky designers, showcasing their products alongside top quality Street Food and live entertainment.

The distinctly glamorous Embankment Summer Market is a unique, must-go event in a wonderfully scenic location on the Northbank of the Thames between Embankment Station and the Royal Courts of Justice and Somerset House.

The event’s charity partner is The Connection at St Martins, which helps homeless people in the heart of Central London.
