Over 90% of all available human data has been recorded in the last two years and is being used to transform the world around us.

On 1 July 1916, the first day of the Battle of the Somme, British forces sustained 57,000 casualties, creating a medical emergency of unprecedented scale and severity.

This new exhibition commemorates the centenary of this momentous battle and the huge medical impact of wounding during and beyond the First World War.

Real to Reel: A Century of War Movies

To mark the 100th anniversary of the release of the original blockbuster, The Battle of the Somme, this immersive new exhibition will explore how film-makers have found inspiration from war's inherent drama to translate stories of love and loss, fear and courage, triumph and tragedy into blockbusters for the big screen.
Engineering the World: Ove Arup and the Philosophy of Total Design
18 June – 6 November 2016 
This is the first ever retrospective on Ove Arup, the most influential engineer of the 20th century. Explore around 100 years of engineering and architectural design including unseen archival materials for Arup's ground-breaking projects such as the Sydney Opera House and the Pompidou Centre, alongside more recent projects by Arup.
