CBBC Live: Awesome Authors
** We've been able to release some additional tickets for some of our Awesome Authors sessions. These tickets will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis **

This year's CBBC Live is all about getting children excited about reading, creative writing and storytelling - with the help of some Awesome Authors!

On Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 July, in partnership with Birmingham City Council and theLibrary of Birmingham, we'll be bringing some of the UK's best-loved authors and CBBC's biggest stars to the Midlands.

In Centenary Square, there will be the opportunity to learn more about your favourite CBBC shows and watch as Blue Peter broadcast live from the event at 10am on Saturday 16 July.

Children will have the chance to try great hands-on activities that encourage reading and literacy in interactive zones created by BBC Learning, including a Wolfblood Zone and a CBBC HQ Zone. There is also a Match of the Day Kickabout Zone, where children can learn how the Match of the Day magazine is put together and author Dan Freedman will speak about his Jamie Johnsonbooks, which have now been made into a brand-new CBBC drama. For the under sixes, there is aCBeebies Zone with guest appearances from the cast of Old Jacks Boat!

Hacker T Dog from the CBBC office says: "Alright cockers, or should I say 'Alright bab?' because I'm heading down the M6 to Birmingham with the rest of CBBC. It's a chance to see your favourite authors and get creative. That Jacqueline Wilson will be there on Saturday - do you think she's going to write a book about me? It's gonna be bostin'."

So come and join us to celebrate Awesome Authors and don't forget to come dressed up as your favourite book character!

Admission to the event, all of the sessions and the zones are free but the author sessions will be ticketed so make sure you book your spot online
