Hunt for Minibeasts on the Nature Trail, go pond dipping, join in our special Big Wednesdays with performances and storytelling, explore the Horniman through special challenges and discover real Museum objects.

Join us for a family Easter weekend in the Museum and Gardens. Enjoy special Alice in Wonderland Storytelling performances, an Easter Egg trail, screen printing workshops, puppet making, face painting and shopping in the Arts and Crafts Market for handmade products by local designers.

Broadwood Horniman Harpsichord Competition
Wednesday 19 April, 10.30am – 5pm

Hear 15 gifted and aspiring professional harpsichordists participate in the second Broadwood Horniman Harpsichord Competition. The performances will take place on the Horniman’s 18th-century Kirckman harpsichord.

Nature Trail Welly Walk: Signs of Spring
Saturday 22 April, 1.45–3.30pm

Get your wellies on and explore spring life on the Nature Trail. Discover what insects, animals and plants live there and have a go at sweep-netting and tree-beating. Suitable for children aged 5+.

New opening time

The Museum is now open from 10am every morning for visitors to enjoy the free permanent galleries and The Robot Zoo exhibition. The closing time remains 5.30pm.

The Gardens open at 7.15am from Monday to Saturday, and from 8am on Sundays, and close at sunset. You can find the full list of Gardens closing times on our website.
