The book features over 130 recipes for tasty, everyday food created using just five ingredients. Chapters focus on hero foods like chicken, fish, salads, pasta, and sweet things. The emphasis is on quality, rather than quantity of ingredients, to deliver sumptuous flavours with minimum fuss.“The inspiration for 5 Ingredients – Quick & Easy Food was a desire to create simple, comforting food that was full of flavour, but not masses of ingredients. It’s all about making a few quality ingredients shine. That’s why the recipes are perfect for Jamie’s Italian restaurants, as the food we serve is based on carefully sourced ingredients, cooked simply to create great tasting dishes. It makes perfect sense to create the new set menus using some of our favourite recipes from the book”, says Ed Loftus, Director of Food Development at the Jamie Oliver Group. The Jamie Oliver Cookery School in Westfield is also running a Quick & Easy cookery lesson to teach students how to cook five family favourites from the book. During the one-day lesson participants learn how to cook Meltin’ Mustardy Beef, Crispy Garlicky Chicken, Quick Asian Fishcakes, Potato & Artichoke Al Forno and Cherry Chocolate Mousse, as well as picking up tips on essential kitchen skills. The first class runs on 6 October, priced £150. For more information see jamieolivercookeryschool.com.A Channel 4 show, Jamie’s Quick & Easy Food, will air from 21 August to accompany the book.
