Ken’s work includes biopics, horror, musicals, documentaries and thrillers, and during this exciting event we will be showing a selection of his most celebrated movies, TV films and rare shorts.
Wed 23rd August 19.30 – Melvyn Bragg will talk about Ken Russell’s films for BBC’s Monitor programme, followed by a screening of The Debussy Film (1965), the penultimate of these films, co-scripted by Russell and Bragg.

Fri 25th August 19.00 – A screening of Mahler (1974) will be followed by an interview with the stars of the film, Robert Powell and Georgina Hale, conducted by Brian Sibley. Robert of course also appeared in Tommy (1975). Georgina featured in The Devils and The Boyfriend (1971).
Sat 26th August 14.30 – Glenda Jackson will be returning for a screening of The Music Lovers (1970), and discussing working with Ken on Women in Love(1969), The BoyfriendThe Rainbow (1989) and The Secret Life of Arnold Bax(1992).
Sun 27th August 14.30 – Lisi Russell will be talking to Brian Sibley about living and working with Ken, with other guests including Judith Paris and Mike Bradsell. Followed by a screening of Savage Messiah (1972).
