Here is our weekly travel update to help you get around London this weekend, 6 and 7 October, and the following week.
Most of the network will be open with services running as normal so you’ll be able to get wherever you need to go, but please check if any of the following affect you. | |

| Central and Waterloo & City lines |
|
On Friday 5 October, there is a strike planned. If it goes ahead, there will be no service on the Central and Waterloo & City lines all day.
There will also be no Central line Night Tube services on Friday night. Normal services will resume on both lines by mid-morning on Saturday 6 October. Check before you travel and visit our Tube strike pagefor live information, in case the strike is called off. |

On Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 October, there will be no service between Oakwood and Cockfosters.
From 05:15 until 07:00 on Saturday, there will be no service between Arnos Grove and Cockfosters in both directions. From 23:20 until close of traffic, there will be no westbound service between these stations. This is due to track replacement work. If you are travelling between Oakwood and Cockfosters, use the 307 and 299 bus routes. Our Hopper fare lets you only pay once when taking multiple buses within an hour. |

| On Sunday 7 October, there will be no service between Paddington and Heathrow until 06:30. This is due to Crossrail work. If you are travelling to / from Heathrow, you can use the Piccadilly line. |

We would like your views on TfL’s proposal to modernise the bus network in central London. Our consultation is the first step in delivering London’s first major modernisation of the bus network in more than 16 years.
The proposals would reshape the bus network to respond to current and predicted passenger demand mainly through frequency changes or restructured routes.

Bus users may be affected by the following this weekend. While we will try to maintain a good service, buses may be delayed, diverted or stop short of their normal destination:
Central London - From 08:00 on Saturday 6 October until 17:00 on Sunday 7 October, Oxford Street will be closed in both directions between Orchard Street and Portman Street, affecting the following routes:
Routes 2, 13, 74, N2 and N74 will be on diversion from the junction with Oxford Street / Orchard Street / North Audley Street (via North Audley Street, Grosvenor Square, Upper Grosvenor Street and Park Lane) before continuing on the line of route.
Routes 10, 390 and N137 will be on diversion from Oxford Street at the junction with North Audley Street (via North Audley Street, Grosvenor Square and Upper Grosvenor Street) before continuing on the line of route.
Routes 7, 10, 23, 94, 98, 159, 390, N7, N98, N137 and N207 will be on diversion from Oxford Street (via Portman Street, Portman Square and Orchard Street) before continuing on the line of route.
Route 113 towards Edgware station will be on diversion from John Princes Street at the junction of Oxford Street (via Oxford Street, Regent Street, Margaret Street, Henrietta Place, Wimpole Street, Wigmore Street and Portman Square) before continuing on the line of route.
Routes 139 and N113 towards Golders Green station and Edgware station will be on diversion from Regent Street at the junction of Oxford Street (via Regent Street, Margaret Street, Henrietta Place, Wimpole Street and Portman Square) before continuing on the line of route.
Routes 30 and 189 towards Marble Arch will end at Oxford Circus.
Bus stops L and BY on Oxford Street and BA and BZ on Orchard Street will be temporarily closed.
Twickenham Rugby Stadium - From 12:00 until 19:00 on Saturday 6 October, expect large pedestrian numbers and increased traffic levels in the Twickenham area. Roads affected are the A316 Chertsey Road and all roads around Twickenham station and stadium. London Road, Whitton Road and Rugby Road will be closed from 12:00 until 15:00 and again from 16:30 until 19:00.This is due to a rugby match between Northampton Saints and Leicester Tigers, with kick-off at 15:00. If you’re going to the game, take the South Western Railway to Twickenham station and walk from there.
Wembley Stadium - From 12:00 until 19:00 on Saturday 6 October, expect large pedestrian numbers and increased traffic levels in the Wembley area. Roads affected are the A406, A1, A40, Harrow Road, Wembley High Road and roads around the stadium. This is due to the Premiership football match between Tottenham and Cardiff, with kick-off at 15:00. If you’re going to the game, take the Jubilee or Metropolitan line to Wembley Park and walk from there.
Westminster - From 11:30 until 17:00 on Sunday 7 October, there will be a series of road closures and traffic holds between Waterloo Place and Parliament Square including Pall Mall, Cockspur Street, Trafalgar Square and Whitehall. This is due to a march. Use the tube to travel through Westminster.
Ealing - From 22:00 on Monday 8 October until Saturday 15 December, A4 Great West Road will have a series of closures to facilitate Highways England works on the elevated M4. The H91 bus will not be diverted and will follow its route safely through the closure, though the bus stops between Clayponds Avenue and Ealing Road will be suspended. Road users may be affected by the following this weekend:
Rotherhithe Tunnel - There are increased restrictions for goods vehicles at Rotherhithe Tunnel. The maximum vehicle height is 2 metres, and the weight limit is 2 tonnes. The width restriction is 2 metres (or 6’6”). Drivers of goods vehicles should use Tower Bridge or the Blackwall Tunnel, both of which are outside the Congestion Charging zone.
