Bishopsgate Institute - The all-star cast coming to Bishopsgate Institute

Enjoy a soaring, full-concert production of Girlfriends, by Emmy, Brit and BAFTA-winning composer and lyricist Howard Goodall CBE (Bend It Like Beckham).

A London Musical Theatre Orchestra co-production with Bishopsgate Institute.

Taking centre stage are two of musical theatre’s brightest young stars, Lucie Jones (Legally Blonde, UK Eurovision Entrant 2017, Les Misérables) and Lauren Samuels (Bend It Like Beckham, Romantics Anonymous, We Will Rock You) in the beautiful surroundings of our Great Hall.

Natasha Barnes, Bronté Barbé and Vikki Stone are amongst the all-star cast of this musical which features sweeping melodies and epic all-female choruses. Girlfriendsfollows the camaraderie and solidarity between recruits in the Women’s Auxiliary Air Force (WAAF) as they pack parachutes, make shells, fall in love and live through the horrors of the Second World War.

Set to brand new orchestrations by Simon Nathan and Howard Goodall, the rarely staged Girlfriends will be performed by the incomparable London Musical Theatre Orchestra, conducted by Freddie Tapner, and is at Bishopsgate Institute for a strictly limited run. Join us for what promises to be a truly unique and unmissable musical experience.
