V&A - October half-term events for families



Join us for an autumn full of creative fun!

Learn about the story of Frida Kahlo through making and performance during October half-term. Celebrate the opening of the new Photography Centre, the Jameel Prize 5 exhibition and Diwali on the weekends. On 2 November, be intrigued by the Day of the Dead Mexican Festival.

The Imagination Station

Learn about the story of Frida Kahlo and explore your own identity through making and portraiture. Create symbolic and colourful flowers and add them to the Mexican garden setting in the gallery.

Be inspired by self-portraiture and create your own digital portrait in this drop-in workshop.

POP-UP PERFORMANCE
The Two Fridas

Join us for a bi-lingual, fully inclusive signed performance. The Two Fridas will take you on a journey through the life and work of Frida Kahlo.

Join us for a free festival to celebrate the annual Día de Muertos Festival. Listen to live mariachi music, watch traditional Mexican dancers, see giant skeleton puppets, join in activities and visit an ofrenda dedicated to Frida Kahlo.

A Pirate's Life for Me

Developed in collaboration with children, this exhibition focuses on fictional pirates through a playful set design. Immerse yourself  into an imaginary swashbuckling world of adventure and exploration where they will travel from a moody coastal inn to a tropical treasure island in search of sparkling riches.
