GET THE HISTORY BEHIND THE HEADLINES
We believe 100 years of history can give us a clearer understanding of today.

Next month we’re launching the IWM Institute. This innovation hub will experiment with new ways of understanding conflict. We’ll bring together scientists, journalists, politicians, historians, authors, actors and artists for a fresh approach, backed by rigorous research.

In a world of sensationalism, misinformation and distortion, we want to help you understand the historical context of contemporary issues. Join us for debates, podcasts, live events and much more.

The Institute will launch on 17 November with the new, free, virtual festival Refugee Nights. From Hollywood to the House of Lords, we've secured a stellar list of guests. They'll explore refugee experiences, and the conflicts that force people to flee.

Hassan Akkad is a Syrian refugee, NHS keyworker and BAFTA-winning filmmaker. He will host the festival and share his moving story along the way.

Watch our trailer to learn more about the IWM Institute, and subscribe to our YouTube Channel for updates on Refugee Nights.

AMERICA FIRST?

Uncover the historical background of American isolationism in our live episode of Hindsight in 2020, tomorrow at 4.30pm.
