What: Renowned restaurateur, Alan Yau, the man behind Wagamama, Hakkasan and Yauatcha has reopened the Yamabahçe flagship restaurant. Enjoy a new approach to casual dining with a special focus on the Turkish flatbread, Pide, which is a staple in Turkish cuisine and dates back to the 1850s. Yamabahçe will now also be open for breakfast where you’ll find Turkish style eggs, meat and pastry dishes all prepared on-site in their woodfired oven. More details can be found here.

What: The Signature African Art Gallery in Mayfair has announced Say My Name, curated by director Khalil Akhar and presented by the director of Selma and 13th, Ava DuVernay. The show will feature portrait paintings and sculptures seeking to connect African artists with the history of the diasporas in Europe and America by celebrating influential figures and moments in Black history. The exhibition, opening concurrently in LA in February 2021, will feature 13 African artists and honour the names of the Black lives which have been lost at the hands of the police. The exhibition will coincide with Black History Month in both countries. More details can be found here.

What: Celebrate the building of Westminster Abbey over two days from the comfort of your own home or in person. On Wednesday, families are invited to peek behind the curtain with a virtual tour to discover the Abbey’s fascinating thousand-year-old history and to see areas normally off limits to the public. On Friday, the Building the Abbey Family Day invites you to come and have some fun by exploring trails, crafts and storytelling. Activities are suitable for families with children aged 5 and above, and places can be booked in advance here.

What: For a truly unique London day out, make a visit to the Postal Museum, home to 500 years of postal heritage. Here you will be able to enjoy an exciting line up of exhibitions and activities such as the return of the city’s hidden underground Mail Rail ride, expert-guided Tunnel Walks and a new ‘Where’s Wally?’ Spooky Halloween Trail. What: The much-anticipated London Mural Festival (LMF) has had over 200 artists complete over 75 colourful large-scale murals and activations that are available for the public to find and view. A mixture of local, national and international artists participated in LMF, including Camille Walala, Conor Harrington, D*Face, Marija Tiurina and Seb Lester. There was no set theme for the for artists, however LMF encouraged the works to reflect the wishes of the wall owners, occupants and communities with a hope that these inspiring pieces will stay for years to come.
