Weekend travel information

If you are out and about this weekend, please note that there are planned works taking place on certain parts of the network.

Customers must continue to wear a face covering on our services and in stations for the duration of their journey unless they are exempt. This includes the Tube, bus, tram, DLR, London Overground and TfL Rail networks, Dial-a-Ride services, the Emirates Air Line and the Woolwich ferry.

We have more than 500 uniformed officers who are undertaking compliance activity on our network across London and non-exempt customers who fail to comply may be refused travel.

We also expect and recommend the continued use of face coverings in taxis and private hire vehicles by both drivers and passengers unless they are exempt.

We are very grateful to the overwhelming majority of customers who have been complying with this requirement.

Please keep washing or sanitising your hands to help everyone stay safe. You can find out more about what we are doing to keep our services clean.

Our TfL Go app will help you plan your journey and show you the quieter times to travel. It also shows how busy Tube stations are throughout the day.

The quieter times currently are:
  • Between 08:15 and 16:00 and after 17:30 on weekdays
  • Before noon and after 18:00 on weekends

Planned events

Planned events in north-east London

On Saturday 25 September, there are several large planned events at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Drumsheds in N18, and at Alexandra Palace in N22, that will make the transport network very busy.

Please allow extra time for your journey, and if you are not attending these events, travel earlier in the day, where possible.

The following areas are expected to be busy from 21:00 until last service, with queues at stations near the venues:
  • Victoria line between Tottenham Hale and Victoria
  • London Overground between White Hart Lane and Liverpool Street, and between Gospel Oak and Barking via South Tottenham
  • Piccadilly line to and from Wood Green, and local and shuttle buses
  • Greater Anglia services travelling between Northumberland Park and Liverpool Street/Stratford
  • Alexandra Palace National Rail station
  • Local buses near the stadium will be diverted until after the event has finished

Travelling after the events

If you are travelling after the events, remember that Tube, Overground and Rail services do not run overnight, though Night buses will continue to run.

Please ensure you plan your journey ahead of time and check before you travel.
