The first Christmas light trail to take place in Windsor Great Park is set to dazzle visitors with wonder and amazement this winter.

Set in the beautiful surrounds of the Obelisk Pond and within stunning woodland in one of the UK’s most famous Parks, Windsor Great Park Illuminated will open on 18 November 2021 and run until 9 January 2022.

Created and produced by global events and entertainment leader IMG (Hampton Court Palace Festival, Natural History Museum Ice Rink, Hyde Park Winter Wonderland, Taste Festivals) and DEAG Entertainment Group / Christmas Garden Deutschland GmbH (creator of 15 acclaimed light trails in Europe), the experience will be of the highest quality and standard befitting the historic location.

Tickets are on sale NOW at  www.windsorilluminated.com

For the first time this winter, trees, paths and the Obelisk Pond within Windsor Great Park will be awash with hundreds of thousands of lights, lasers, projections and holograms; creating an enchanting experience for friends or a romantic night out, as well as a fun activity for families to enjoy the festive season in a safe, outdoor environment.

Both celebrating and respecting the natural surroundings, and flora and fauna of the park, this very special light trail will feature colourful and brilliant light installations including floating water lilies, an impressive field of lights which extends over 1.400 square metres, fountains of projected flowers, and holograms of woodland creatures. In addition, the trail will take visitors through a dreamlike laser-scape amongst the trees, a cathedral of light, an ethereal ship in recognition of Britain’s naval past, and many more moments of awe and wonder. For those looking for a briefer journey, a shorter route is available as well.

Cosy teepee rest spots with a selection of mouth-wateringly good food stalls, mulled wine and hot chocolate, as well as specially designed firepits for outdoor marshmallow toasting will complete the experience.

From the entrance located in the Savill Garden car park to the very end of the trail, Windsor Great Park Illuminated promises to be the perfect evening out; a wondrous encounter that will bring people together after an especially difficult period, at this magical time of year.

The light path will be run in accordance with Covid-19 guidance in place at the time of the event, with the health and safety of visitors and staff remaining the priority. In addition to regular cleaning of touch points and hand sanitisation stations in place throughout the outdoor site, Windsor Great Park Illuminated will operate a timed entry system (outside the usual park opening hours), ensuring a comfortable, spacious and safe environment for all visitors.
