The Book of Mormon is a religious satire musical from South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, and Avenue Q co-creator Robert Lopez. The Book of Mormon won nine Tony Awards in 2011, including ‘Best Musical’, and the Grammy for ‘Best Musical Theatre Album’ in 2012, while the London production also picked up five Laurence Olivier Awards in 2014, including ‘Best New Musical’ and ‘Best Actor in a Musical’.
The story follows two young Mormon missionaries who travel to Uganda where a brutal warlord is threatening to kill the local population. With the Book of Mormon in hand, the young helpers attempt to connect with the locals (even though one of them hasn’t read it), but they’re a long way from the Latter Day Saints Church Missionary Training Centre in Salt Lake City now. Watch the action unfold in this hilarious show from two kings of comedy.
