Due to its huge popularity in recent years, the event will be ticketed once again to help control numbers and ensure everyone can enjoy the event safely. Tickets are free and will be released to local residents on the 3 October 2016 before going on general release one week later.
Cllr Johnson Situ, cabinet member for business, employment and culture said, "Southwark’s annual fireworks is a fantastic community and family event that has grown massively over the last few years. While that is great news for the borough, our utmost priority is to continue to ensure the fireworks remain a safe event for all.
"That is why we have decided to ticket the event again this year to help us manage crowds. Tickets will be free but will need to be secured online in advance, so please do sign up as early as you can and we look forward to welcoming everyone to Southwark Park on 5 November."
Anyone planning to attend the fireworks event in Southwark Park on Saturday 5 November should ensure they get their free tickets in advance, and be aware that local routes to the park will be very busy on the night. Travel should be planned in advance to make sure they arrive at the park in good time.
Gates will open at 5pm, with food, drink and entertainment available until 8pm. Last entry to the park will be at 6.30pm. We strongly advise that ticket holders arrive as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
