London - Travel Information for this weekend 22-23 October 2016 - Transport for London

Weekly travel update to help you get around London this weekend, 22-23 October. Most of the network will be open with services running as normal, but please check if any of the following affect you.





London Underground


We are undertaking a comprehensive improvement programme across London’s transport network, including the modernisation of the Tube.

Bakerloo line
On Sunday, trains will not run between Queen's Park and Harrow & Wealdstone while Network Rail carry out track work.

Circle line
There will be no service between Hammersmith and Tower Hill via King's Cross St. Pancras. This is to allow us to carry out station improvement work at Moorgate, Barbican and Liverpool Street and track replacement work at Farringdon. A 10 minute service will operate between Edgware Road and Barking via Victoria.

Hammersmith & City line
Trains will not run between King’s Cross St. Pancras and Barking while we carry out station improvement work at Moorgate, Barbican and Liverpool Street as well as track replacement work at Farringdon.

Metropolitan line
There will be no service between King’s Cross St. Pancras and Aldgate while we carry out station improvement work at Moorgate, Barbican and Liverpool Street as well as track replacement work at Farringdon.




London Overground


This weekend, there will be no service between Romford and Upminster, for Crossrail and Network Rail infrastructure work.
 
On Sunday, trains will not run between the following stations for Network Rail work:
 Wandsworth Road and Clapham Junction, until 10:15
 Sydenham and Crystal Palace
 Euston and Watford Junction
 
There is no service between Gospel Oak and Barking until February 2017. This is while Network Rail carry out major works to enable new, longer trains to run from 2018. For more information, pleaseclick here

TfL Rail


On Saturday there will be no service between Chadwell Heath and Shenfield. On Sunday, the closure will be extended to Stratford. This is while Network Rail carry out track and station improvements as part of their Railway Upgrade Plan, as well as Crossrail construction work.

Buses


Bus users may be affected by the following this weekend. While we will try to maintain a good service, buses may be delayed or stop short of their normal destination: 

A1 Holloway Road - From 22:00 tomorrow, Friday, until January 2017, there will be a series of closures on the A1 Holloway Road between Fairbridge Road and Wedmore Gardens. This is while we carry out work to replace Upper Holloway Bridge. Bus routes 17, 43, 263, 271 and N41 will be diverted. For full details, visit tfl.gov.uk/upper-holloway-bridge 

Twickenham - From 10:00 until 20:00 on Sunday, a sporting event is taking place at Twickenham stadium. Roads in the area will be busier than usual, including A316 Chertsey Road, all roads leading to Twickenham Station, and around the stadium. London Road, Whitton Road and Rugby Road will be closed before and after the event. 

Wembley - From midday until 20:00 on Sunday, roads around the stadium will be busier than usual, including the A406, Harrow Road and Wembley High Road. Engineers Way will also be closed. This is due to an event. 

Chelsea - From 08:00 on Monday until 16:00 on Sunday 30 October, four-way temporary traffic signals will be in place on Fulham Road at the junction of Hortensia Road. Lane and carriageway restrictions will also be in place. This is to facilitate utility connection works. 

Earls Court - From 22:00 on Monday until 05:30 on Tuesday, and during the same times on Tuesday/ Wednesday and Wednesday/Thursday, there will be lane restrictions in place in both directions on Earls Court Road between Cromwell Road and Old Brompton Road. This is for resurfacing works and a crane operation.

Roads


Road users may be affected by the following this weekend:

 Upper Richmond Road for electrical installations
 Speakers’ Corner 1 & 2 and Cumberland Gate for civil works
 Westfield Eastern Access Road for site development
 Stonecutter, for crane works
 Bourne Street, for building redevelopment
 Chancery Lane and Caret Street, for filming
 Copper Box Arena, for an event
