The British Museum - What's on in September

Autumn may be in the air, but there’s still time to discover the BP exhibition Sunken cities: Egypt’s lost worlds. Plus, you can book tickets now for our next special exhibition, South Africa: the art of a nation (opening 27 Oct).
This month you can find out all about the Korean moon festival Chuseok, experience the power of the epic of Gilgamesh, and catch an unparalleled range of drawings on display in Poole.
September also sees a superb selection of new free exhibitions, covering everything from African rock art to French portrait drawings, and from Southeast Asian shadow puppets to dynamic and sensuous drawings by contemporary artist Maggi Hambling.
Take the opportunity to ask our curators your questions on#AskACuratorDay on 14 September. Follow @britishmuseum on Twitter to join in.
